Frequently asked questions
Your questions about professional iris photography.
The Ikibox booth, the IriStore software, Iris Processor retouching and the Iris Corner offer: what people ask us before getting started, and our answers.
Ikomiris Pro
Who we are and who we work with
What is Ikomiris Pro?
Ikomiris Pro is the professional brand of IKOMIRIS, based in Caen, Normandy, France. We provide retailers and photographers with everything it takes to sell iris photographs: the Ikibox capture booth, the IriStore management software, Iris Processor automated retouching and the turnkey Iris Corner offer.
Do you sell iris photos to the public?
Not on this site, which is for professionals only. Consumers will find our sessions and prints on ikomiris.com.
Who are your solutions for?
Opticians, photo studios, concept stores and gift shops, established iris photographers, as well as networks and franchises. A single store uses the same tools as a network: only the scale changes.
Have your tools been proven in a real store?
Yes. Ikomiris was founded in 2021 and runs its own iris photography store in Caen. The Ikibox booth was developed there, and IriStore runs that store day to day. Read our story.
Which offer should I choose?
If you want to offer iris photography without making it your trade, choose Iris Corner: Ikomiris installs the booth, retouches, prints, ships and handles after-sales. If you want to run your own business, Ikibox takes the photos, IriStore manages clients, sales and production, and Iris Processor retouches your images. IriStore and Iris Processor can also be used independently.
Is iris photography a medical examination?
No. It is art photography: the eye is photographed in extreme close-up to create a print or a digital file. The iris report offered in IriStore is a visual and poetic reading of the image, not a diagnosis.
Ikibox
The iris photography booth
Do I need photography skills to use Ikibox?
No. The booth detects the customer’s face, tells the left eye from the right, moves in front of the chosen eye, focuses and takes the shot. You press the button for the eye to photograph: that is the only decision in the whole session. A member of staff is trained in a single demonstration.
How long does a session take?
About two minutes for both eyes. Each shot takes the booth around ten seconds of work, during which you have nothing to do.
What if the customer blinks or moves?
The booth follows small movements while framing and only takes the shot when the eye is open and properly framed. If the photo is not good, it starts again on its own.
How do I know the photo is good?
Every photo is scored as soon as it appears, with two indicators: sharpness and how much of the iris is clear, eyelids included. The gauges run from red to green. You know whether to retake before the customer stands up. The quality threshold is set at installation.
Does the store’s lighting affect the result?
No. Lighting is built into the booth and controlled by it: every session gets the same result, whatever the store’s lighting and the time of day.
Where do the photos go?
They are sent automatically, in the background, to the customer’s online folder. The file name is built for you (store, customer, first name, date) and a backup copy is saved to your cloud folder. Every photo is kept at full quality for printing.
Does the booth work without an internet connection?
Yes for capture: you can still take photos when the connection is down.
How is the booth set up?
The booth arrives ready: it is calibrated once and for all at installation. It is activated with a code, then valid for one year. Settings are password-protected: your staff only see the capture screen.
What happens if something goes wrong?
The booth keeps a log of how it runs. Most issues can be diagnosed remotely, over the phone, without taking your booth out of service.
How much does Ikibox cost?
Ikibox has no public price: terms are presented during a demonstration. Request a demo.
IriStore
Software to run an iris photography store
What is IriStore?
Online software built for iris photography. It brings together a customer portal, an integrated online shop, a back office (clients, invoices, designs, catalogue, production, after-sales) and a touchscreen sales flow for the counter. Four applications, fifteen modules and more than two hundred features. See the full presentation.
How much does IriStore cost?
IriStore is rented monthly, in three plans: Basic at €150, Standard at €185 and Premium at €240 per month, excluding VAT. All plans include the dashboard, multi-store, client management, invoicing, print management and VAT management. Standard adds the customer portal, the printer API, remote retouching and promo codes. Premium adds online designs, gift cards, support tickets and PayPal, Stripe and Stancer payments. Compare the plans.
Is there a minimum commitment for IriStore?
No. IriStore is a monthly rental with no commitment: there is no minimum term.
What does my customer see?
A portal in your colours and with your logo, in French or English. Customers find all their irises and their family’s, download them with no limit on time or number, and check their orders, invoices and tickets. The platform’s name never appears: they see your brand.
Can my customers order prints online?
Yes, with the Premium plan. From their portal, customers choose a product, build their design with their own irises, text and background, see it in perspective on the real product, then pay by card. The invoice is issued automatically.
Can a print go into production without the customer’s approval?
No. The high-definition render is submitted to the customer in their portal: they approve it, or request a change by describing what is wrong. Disagreements are settled before printing, not after.
Who prints the artwork?
The choice is yours. IriStore builds the print file at the exact size of the product, sends it to the printer via API and tracks its status through to shipping. You can also issue a PDF purchase order or print on site, in your store.
Can I create my own designs?
Yes. A full graphic editor runs in the browser: layers, iris masks, blur, curved text, placement in the print file and a perspective mockup zone. You create your templates without calling in a designer for each new product.
Which payment methods are supported?
Card terminal at the counter, online card payment, cash, cheque, gift card, promo code, PayPal and Alma. Each brand enters its own credentials: you collect payments under your own contract. Invoices are numbered sequentially per brand, with credit notes, a payment journal and CSV export.
Is IriStore suitable for a network or a franchise?
Yes. Each brand has its own stores, users with roles, invoice prefix, subdomain and visual identity. Data is kept separate from one brand to the next.
Do I need an Ikibox booth to use IriStore?
No. You can import raw or already retouched photos into the client record. With Ikibox, the customer identified at the booth goes straight into IriStore, with nothing to re-enter.
How does IriStore handle personal data?
A client record can be anonymised on request, in line with the GDPR, and the client file can be exported as CSV. Photos and renders are stored on Amazon S3.
Iris Processor
AI retouching for iris photographs
What does Iris Processor do?
It retouches an iris photo automatically: crops around the iris, centres and resizes the pupil, removes flash and eyelash reflections, and enhances sharpness. Its AI was trained on hundreds of iris photographs.
Which files should I upload?
Preferably RAW files (CR3, NEF, ARW). Make sure the photo is sharp and well exposed: retouching starts from what you give it.
What will I receive?
A JPEG image, plus a PSD file containing the retouching layers. You can review and adjust every edit in Photoshop.
How much does Iris Processor cost?
The service runs on tokens: one edit uses one token. Sign-up is free, with no credit card, and includes 20 tokens. Top-ups come in packs: 50 tokens for €145, 200 tokens for €460 and 500 tokens for €900, excluding VAT. Go to Iris Processor.
Iris Corner
The turnkey offer for retailers and opticians
How does Iris Corner work?
Ikomiris installs a booth in your store that photographs your customers’ irises. You welcome customers and start the session with one tap on the screen. We retouch every iris, print, ship and handle after-sales. Discover the offer.
How do I earn money?
You rent the corner and earn a commission on every session billed in your store, then on the art prints, frames and digital files your customers order, including later, online. Rental terms and commission rates are presented when we review your project.
Is there a minimum commitment for Iris Corner?
Yes. The corner is rented for a minimum term of one year.
How much space do I need?
The booth measures 50 × 60 × 80 cm and everything is built in: professional camera, computer and touchscreen. Allow at least 2 m² of floor space, or 3 m² for the comfort of the customer and the operator.
Do I have to manage stock?
No. No stock to manage, no products to order, no files to send: photos go automatically to our lab.
How do I let my customers know about the corner?
We provide a marketing kit: flyers and display prints for your window and counters. Every session then gives you images to share, with your customers’ consent.
Demo and contact

How do I get a demonstration?
